Thank you for stopping by my website. I am a photographer based in Racine, Wisconsin, although I was born and raised in North Eastern England. I specialize in photographs of the natural world, especially landscapes and birds, although I am also fascinated by architecture both old and new.
One of my earliest childhood memories is of going for walks with my parents, during which my parents, especially my mother, would point out things for me to look at and observe. She would point out birds, flowers, trees, mountains, rocks, animals and anything else worth a second look. I was encouraged to smell flowers, admire patterns in a landscape and to appreciate the views and the beauty of nature in general.
As a result, I grew up with an appreciation for the beautiful things around me and this love of nature has continued to the present day and is a huge influence on my photography.
I was given my first camera when I was about 8 years old and since then I have been taking photographs of a wide variety of subjects, especially the natural world.
As a professional photographer I seek to capture both beauty and detail in whatever happens to be my photographic subject at the time. This may require an expansive vista or a close-up to capture the hidden detail, which may otherwise go unnoticed.
Being a photographer drives me to look at things differently, observing the effects of light and shadows as well as different angles and perspectives.
I hope that my photographs convey my passion and also encourage others to look at the world differently and to enjoy the beauty that is out there.
